Sash rods are decorative curtain rods with a circumference of a pencil. They
are usually white with brass ends. Sash rods mount flush to the door or wall two
to three inches above the window and two to three inches below the window as
well. Mounting hardware should be included with sash rods. When using sash rods,
you will need to remember that the curtain length should be four to six inches
longer in total than the length of your window. By using a sash rod, you will be
able to cover the window as well as the molding and trim.
CAFÉ SASH RODS
Café sash rods are very much like the basic sash rods, but they are bigger
around. They are designed to protrude out from the door or wall about ˝ ad inch;
they are not designed to lie flush against the surface, as are the basic sash
rods. Café sash rods are usually white with brass ends and have the
circumference of a magic marker. Café sash rods are also designed to be mounted
two to three inches above the window and extend two to three inches below the
window. Mounting hardware will be included with café sash rods as well. You
should consider the extra length when selecting drapes; be sure to add four to
six inches to the length. By using café sash rods, you will be able to cover the
window as well as the molding and trim.
